ABOUT ME!
HI! My name is Madeleine “MAD” Pears, an artist based in Vancouver, BC. I specialize in story and character development, working in a variety of different art styles and genres.
I've been creating my own cartoons and comics since childhood, focusing on writing, storyboarding, and character development. Alongside animation, I’m active in Vancouver’s indie music scene as a poster and album cover designer.
I'm also an avid collector of toys, comics, vinyl records, VHS tapes and other physical media, which has heavily influenced my art and writing style. My work draws inspiration from Danny Antonucci, Marv Newland, Hanna-Barbera, Everett Peck, and Ben Jones.
I graduated from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in 2026 with a degree in 2D + Experimental Animation. My graduate film, FUNemployed, is directed, written, animated, storyboarded, and edited entirely by me!
